The Vanguard Sentinel is a ship by Aegis Dynamics, designed to use electronic warfare to support other ships in combat. From EMP pulses to command and control interference, the Vanguard Sentinel will support battlefield operations by making it all that much harder for opponents to stay in contact and have proper information.
The Sentinel is designed to fight smart instead of taking enemies head on. The conversion features an AR cockpit, an external e-War pod, decoy missiles and a set of EMP charges. Vanguard Sentinels often provide necessary combat support for combined operations. A lone Sentinel assigned wild weasel tasks is frequently paired with Harbinger bombers and Warden escorts for large attack missions.
The Sentinel can perform commercial information running jobs. It will run into certain limitations that the Herald does not. These will primarily center around avionics space. The Herald has a large data core for holding the vast amounts of data it needs to collect, while the Sentinel does not. Pilots wanting to reorient a Sentinel for inforunning would be advised to make some upgrades to the overall data storage once they’re in the ‘Verse!
It also features an AR Cockpit which has a broader view of the battlefield, providing the pilot and crew with enhanced information courtesy of their superior sensor array!
