The stars are the substantial marrow of a universe. Hot spots in the vast freezing cold of space, they are the traveling elements of a galaxy. These fiery giants can live tens of millions of years, even billions of years, depending on their size. So there is a curious paradox: the larger a star, the shorter its lifespan. Indeed, the temperature within a massive star is much higher, considerably accelerating the nuclear combustion reactions burning central hydrogen, which consumes this "fuel" much faster.

Stars of the main sequence[]

A star in the main sequence is a star that has reached the main stage of its evolution. During this period, its characteristics correspond to those of the main sequence of the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram. 90% of the stars thus appear on the diagram and are thus called "of the main sequence". They can be designated more generally by their color (and incidentally by their spectral type). Here are the ones we can meet in the Star Citizen universe: 169/5000

Stadiums[]

  • Dwarf
  • Sub-Giant
  • Giant

Special stars[]

These stars, which do not appear on the main sequence, have very specific characteristics. Here are some of them:

  • Variable star
    • Eruptive star
    • Pulsating star
    • Star variable by rotation
  • Degenerate star
  • Neutron star
  • Brown dwarf
  • Black dwarf

Others[]

It is possible that planetesimals orbit around an element other than a star; incidentally, very rare case.
