Ship docking or docking allows space ships to create a non-permanent connection between two space ships, or between a space ship and a structure, such as space stations. Some medium to large ships can feature the small docking rings (Cutlass Red, Carrack) or the larger docking ports (Hammerhead), while capital ships will always feature the larger docking ports. Docking ports can be found on space stations that offer the requisition of ships (ASOP Terminal).
Docking ports are extendable skybridges used for capital ships, they allow to create a non-permanent connection to a space station and serve as the main ingress point for crew and guests.
Ship to ship docking[]
Ship to ship docking will come with a future content update, allowing to create a non-permanent connection between two ships by using the circular docking rings that can be found on many small to large space ships.
And in case of the Constellation, use a bespoke docking mechanism only usable for the P-52 Merlin and P72 Archimedes.
To perform ship to ship docking, the ship initiating the docking maneuver has to acquire target lock of the other ship and request permission. (Default keybind: N)
