Official Description

If you want to get from point A to point B as quickly as possible and with as much style as possible then ORIGIN’s M50 is for you. Featuring supercharged engines that counter a tiny weapons loadout, the M50 is a ship for going FAST. The core spaceframe is used by both racing teams and for military courier missions, but the civilian M50 is a luxury spacecraft like no other. Perfect for the mercenary who prefers speed over armor in a dogfight… or the weekend warrior looking to impress the ladies.[4]

Developer Updates

Jump Drive / Transport Update

The M50 can mount a jump drive, it just doesn't come with one stock from the factory.

–Ben Lesnick on September 12, 2014[5]

The M50 is pretty small, so it's likely not necessary to have a Jump Drive, but we're gonna also have, you know- that's kind of the idea why you have bigger ships; So, If you think about racing in today's world, the people that go around racing, you know, they have big 18 wheelers that they put their race cars in the back and drive around the country, or even in the case of- you know- high-end stuff like Formula 1[6] they put them on planes and fly them around. So, we will definitely sort of have transporter ships that you'll be able to take your smaller, something like an M50, and so, for instance: If you have an 890 Jump and you're cruising around in style in the universe you could have an M50 sitting in the cargo bay and race it at various races, just like the super rich do of today's world.
