Hornet models

The Hornet is available in a Civilian and a Military Version.

F7A Hornet

The Hornet F7A is the Military version of the Hornet. It is equipped with military spec components and is ready for any fight.

F7C Hornet

The Hornet F7C is the Civilian version of the Hornet. It is heavily redesigned to fit non-military components. But it still is a robust fighter.

F7C-R Hornet Tracker

The Hornet F7C-R is a Civilian version of the Hornet that is equipped with an advanced sensor suite. It is the tracker version of the normal Hornet.

F7C-S Hornet Ghost

The Hornet F7C-S is a Civilian version of the Hornet that is equipped with equipment and a hull that resist, deflect, and absorb sensor readings for "stealth". The F7C-S is also painted solid black and uses an engine that produces less visible light, making it hard to see visibly as well.

F7C Hornet Wildfire

The Hornet F7C Wildfire is a Civilian version of the Hornet that pays tribute to famed pilot Aria Reilly for her distinguished service with the legendary Squadron 42. This Hornet comes equipped with her own personally selected load out preferences and a custom special edition livery honoring her iconic ship.

F7C-M Super Hornet

The Hornet F7C-M is a Civilian version of the Hornet that is equipped as closely to mil-spec as possible. It is only slightly varied from the F7A in that it has an extra seat and includes a jump drive standard.

Official Description

The Hornet is the civilian version of the F7A Hornet flown off of the elite Bengal carrier Vanguard of the UEE Navy. While not outfitted for long range runs, the Hornet can take her share of hits… and dish out a consistent, powerful response. The Hornet may be uglier than anything from Origin’s lineup, but pilots love them for their rugged reliability.[1]

NOTE: On the military version of the Hornet the two Class 4 hardpoints are utilized by a Ball Turret with twin Laser Gatlings and a Canard Turret with twin Neutron Guns. The Ball Turret takes 4 Upgrade Slots (It's a ball turret or the decent size cargo hold).

The Hornet (which will be a little different than the military one) is the one you'll want if you want to focus on dog fighting and maneuverability vs. trading or being an all around ship. It can still haul cargo but not so much with an additional module and its really set up more as a mercenary / bounty hunter / escort style ship.

–Chris Roberts

From official pledge description: High-end ship focused towards dogfighting/combat.

The Hornet has one 4-rated vectored main engine thruster, four 2-rated flex maneuvering jets (with the front two also performing retro duties) on the top and four 2-rated jointed thrusters on the bottom.[1][2]
