The Aurora Essential is the cheapest Aurora model. It has only a TR2 engine, unlike the other models. Its basic shield and no pre-installed equipment in the hardpoints make it an affordable ship for basic exploration. The upgrade capacity of 4 make it an easily modifiable ship matched only by the most expensive Aurora LX with regards to modifiability.

Commercial text

The Aurora is the modern day descendant of the Roberts Space Industries X-7 spacecraft which tested the very first jump engines. Utilitarian to a T, the Aurora is the perfect beginner's ship: what it lacks in style it makes up for in ample room for upgrade modules.[1]
